As students begin selecting courses for next school year, we encourage parents and caregivers to review the BHS 26/27 course catalog (released Feb. 6) and explore the wide range of opportunities at Brookline High School. Many of the courses students can choose from today were launched with support from the BHS Innovation Fund and would not exist without the generosity of parents and caregivers. As you browse the catalog, look for the Fund’s logo next to the course descriptions.
Below are just a few of the many courses that began with support from the BHS Innovation Fund courses that would not have been possible without your generosity.

Data Science and Social Justice
Students learn how to use data as a tool for understanding – and addressing – real-world inequities. Through hands-on work with data visualization, basic programming, and statistical modeling, students build the skills to analyze complex social issues and evaluate the impact of policies and interventions. The course empowers students to see data not just as numbers, but as a powerful lens for making sense of the world and driving change.

Restaurant & Culinary Careers Pathway

This multi-year pathway gives students authentic, hands-on experience in the culinary and hospitality industries. Students learn how restaurants operate from the inside out while developing practical skills in food preparation, service, management, and entrepreneurship. Along the way, they gain confidence, teamwork skills, and real-world workplace experience that prepares them for careers in food service, business, or post-secondary culinary studies.
Drawing for Understanding In Field Science
Blending art and science, this interdisciplinary course teaches students how careful observation leads to deeper understanding of the natural world. Through fieldwork and scientific drawing, students sharpen their ability to see, analyze, and communicate complex biological and environmental concepts. The course builds foundational skills in inquiry, evidence-based reasoning, and visual communication – skills essential across disciplines.
The Innovation Fund has helped launch and sustain a wide range of active courses and programs that will be offered during the 2026–27 school year, including:
